Approving Slots Picker for your organisation
Someone on your team wants to use Slots Picker, an Outlook add-in for executive assistants. Because it reads calendars, your organisation may be asking you to approve it first. Here is what it can and cannot do, and how to approve it.
What it does
Slots Picker lets an assistant view the calendars they already manage side by side, drag to select free time across the week, and paste those times into an email. That is all it does. It cannot send email for the user, and it cannot create, move, edit, or delete anything in a calendar.
What it can access
Slots Picker asks for three permissions, all read-only:
- Sign in and read user profile (
User.Read): signs the user in and reads their basic profile and company name. - Read user and shared calendars (
Calendars.Read.Shared): read-only access to the calendars the user can already see, including shared and delegated ones. It cannot create, edit, move, or delete any event. - Maintain access (
offline_access): a refresh token, so the user is not asked to sign in every hour. As the consent screen says, it grants no extra permissions.
There is no write access of any kind, and no access to mailboxes, files, contacts, or Teams.
How the data is protected
Calendar information is read only in the moment, to work out who is free, and is never saved on our servers. It comes straight from Microsoft Graph into the user's session, so it never passes through or rests on our systems, and none of our staff can see it. The three permissions above are the only access we ask for.

How to approve it
You can approve Slots Picker for your organisation in one of these ways:
- If you use the admin consent workflow, approve the pending request in the Microsoft Entra admin center, under Enterprise applications and then Admin consent requests.
- To grant it directly, open Enterprise applications, then Slots Picker, then Permissions, and select Grant admin consent. That approves it for everyone at once, so users are not prompted again.
- Or use this link: Review and approve Slots Picker for my organisation. You sign in as an administrator, review the permissions above, and approve them in one step.
You can revoke access at any time from the same Enterprise applications screen.
